Stylo is not a data hosting service. It is important to regularly back up your documents on Stylo, especially sensitive or important data for a research group.

In addition to exporting specific articles or corpora in a format of your choice as a local backup, you can back up all articles you have access to, or from your personal workspace, or from a specific shared workspace.

To do this, click “My Account” in the top-right corner of the Stylo interface, then “Back up my data,” and finally the black “Download my data” button. You can then choose whether to back up all your data, data from your personal workspace, or data from a specific workspace. Once you have made this choice, you must decide whether to export your data as a single general JSON file or as a .zip folder; in the latter case, your articles will be organized into separate folders (named using their Stylo identifiers), each containing a Markdown file for the text, a JSON file for metadata, and a BibTeX file for bibliographic references.

Finally, you can choose whether to download only the latest versions of the articles or all versions. If you choose the latter, the exported folder will contain your articles in folders named after their Stylo identifiers; inside these, you will find a “latest” folder containing the most recent versions, alongside folders for previous versions labeled with their version numbers (e.g., “0.1”).

Currently, articles are backed up without any specific ordering and are not linked to corpora, as corpora are not included in the backup process. However, you can export corporas directly through the export option in the corpus page, if you wish to back up those particular collections of articles rather than articles taken individually.
